Exploring BioProcess International 2023
Published date: 12 December 2023
The bustling city of Boston, known for its rich history and vibrant culture, played host to one of the most anticipated events in the bioprocessing industry this September. From September 19th to 21st, 2023, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center became the epicenter of innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration as industry leaders, researchers, and enthusiasts gathered for the BioProcess International conference.
Day 1: September 18th – Set-up
Before we dive into Astrea Bioseparations’ exciting highlights of this event, let’s rewind to September 18th, the event setup day. Our team was busy making sure everything was just right at our booth. We also announced the expansion of our manufacturing and warehousing capacity in North America, read more here.
Day 2: September 19th – Exploring Innovation
The morning of the 19th continued with setup activities and unpacking one of the highlights for us this year, the debut of our Evolve® column, an impressive addition to our booth, this was the first time we showcased an Evolve® column of this size at an event, and it garnered significant attention from attendees interested in the latest advancements in bioprocessing technology.
The opening ceremony was very busy, with lots of interest surrounding our much-anticipated product launch. Our R&D team had some great technical conversations at our two new posters, both of which can now be found online:
Day 3: September 20th – Product Launch Extravaganza
As we geared up for the product launch, there was an additional element that made our booth stand out even more, our team donned matching t-shirts. Attendees couldn’t help but notice our enthusiastic team, eager to share our latest innovations and insights.
The clock struck 11am, and it was time for one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the conference, our product launch. We introduced three game-changing products: ExoHERO®, LentiHERO®, and pDNAHERO®, available to order now, in sizes perfect for process development (1 mL & 10 mL). The grand unveiling was conducted by none other than our CEO, Terry Pizzie, at our booth.
To ensure everyone was able to join in with our launch celebrations, we live streamed the launch back to our offices where the teams celebrated with branded cupcakes!
Following the launch, our CEO Terry had the privilege of being interviewed by Dan Stanton as part of BioProcess Insider. This interview promises to offer deep insights into our latest innovations and the future of bioprocessing. Stay tuned for the interview’s release!
Day 4: September 21st – A Dive into Cutting-Edge Technology
As the conference reached its final day, our team was gearing up for another remarkable event. At 12:15pm, Ian Scanlon took the stage to present at the Vivo Gene Therapy Manufacturing track. His presentation titled, “A Novel Nanofiber Technology for Downstream Processing of Viral Vectors, Extracellular Vesicles, and Nucleic Acid Targets” was a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of bioprocessing technology. Attendees were treated to a deep dive into the world of nanofiber technology and its applications in the field, including an introduction to our new products with exciting, real-life data. The presentation was fantastically attended, and Ian received some interesting questions from you all.
As BioProcess International 2023 draws to a close, we’re filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation for what the future holds. The connections made, the knowledge shared, and the innovations unveiled at this year’s conference have been truly inspiring. We can’t wait to reunite with our industry peers, partners, and friends at BioProcess International next year, where we aspire to make an even bigger impact. Together, we’ll continue pushing the boundaries of bioprocessing, driving innovation, and contributing to the advancement of science and technology. Until we meet again, the journey of discovery and progress continues, and we’re eager to be a part of it. See you all next year, where together, we’ll write the next chapter in the exciting story of bioprocessing!
